NSW expansion for Puma Energy as new travel centre opens

In a move that signals the start of an expansion into New South Wales, Puma Energy, Australia’s largest independent fuel operator, opened its first newly-built Australian service centre in Kempsey on 4 May.

The South Kempsey Travel Centre will create 185 jobs in the region and service the 13,000 vehicles that pass through on the Pacific Highway each day, providing travellers and truck drivers with convenient access to first-class refuelling and rest facilities.

With parking for 149 cars, 25 B-double truck bays, and six bus or caravan parking spaces, the five-hectare service centre includes facilities such as a truck lounge, playground, dog park and indoor and outdoor seating areas. It is also joined by McDonalds, Subway and Red Rooster restaurants.

Puma Energy Australia managing director, Ray Taylor, said the flagship development was a significant milestone for Puma Energy and for Kempsey, ?he South Kempsey Travel Centre will bring new facilities to one of the state’s most travelled areas and will help us to achieve our goal to provide truck-stop and travel coverage on key routes right across the country.

“Puma Energy is dedicated to bringing high quality fuel facilities to New South Wales and expanding our network to give customers greater access to our services, and Kempsey plays a significant role in making that happen,” Mr Taylor said.

The travel centre is a key part of Puma Energy’s strategy to expand its national network in 2015 and joins 15 northern New South Wales retail sites acquired from Neumann Petroleum in 2013.
