Shocking axe attack at Sydney servo

NSW Police are investigating a shocking axe attack at a service station in Sydney’s Inner West suburb of Enmore.

Police were called to a 7-Eleven service station on Stanmore Road, after two people were attacked by a woman with an axe early on Saturday morning.

The assailant, later identified as Evie Amati, 24, was caught on CCTV attacking two people inside the service station with an axe, one of whom, a woman, was attacked from behind.

The attacker also carried a kitchen knife in her back pocket.

The injured man, believed to be aged in his 30s, suffered a serious head wound, and the woman, believed to be in her 40s, was found outside with a minor injury.

The attacker was later located and arrested, and an axe in her possession was seized.

The victims were both taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment and were assessed as being in a stable condition. The arrested woman was placed under police guard at St Vincent’s Hospital for assessment.
