Wayne Fueling Systems has received Payment Card Industry PIN Transaction Security (PCI PTS) version 4.1 certification for Encrypting PIN Pad keypad devices for the Wayne iX Pay solution, which was first introduced in 2007, without any hardware changes.

The Wayne iX Pay secure payment solution, which helps petroleum retailers protect customers and businesses from forecourt payment card fraud, has been gained new certification from the payment card industry.

Wayne Fueling Systems (Wayne) received the Payment Card Industry PIN Transaction Security (PCI PTS) version 4.1 certification for Encrypting PIN Pad keypad devices this week, which endorses the ability of Wayne’s iX Pay secure payment solution to help protect consumers and retailers from increasingly sophisticated data fraud methods.

The certification also provides industry-leading equipment investment protection by offering compliance through 2023 and beyond.

The iX Pay secure payment module (SPM) keypad first achieved PCI certification in 2007 as the world’s first device meeting the PTS 2.0 requirements, and again in 2010 as the world’s first PTS 3.0 certified device.

This same device has now met the PTS 4.1 requirements, demonstrating the company’s commitment to provide unparalleled security solutions.

Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) VP and GM of North America Bill Reichhold said that Wayne has received certification without any hardware changes the iX Pay solution was introduced in 2007.

“The longevity of the iX Pay secure payment solution to meet ever increasing requirements illustrates the commitment Wayne has to helping petroleum retailers protect their customers and businesses from payment card fraud on their forecourt.”

This most recent certification sets the foundation for the SPM keypad to be part of Wayne’s forthcoming PCI point-to-point encryption solution on the iX Pay platform introduced nearly 10 years ago.

With PCI PTS 2.0 expiring in April 2017 and PCI PTS 3.0 expiring in 2020, Wayne customers can rest assured that they are provided with the latest secure, compliant and future-proof solutions and dispensers in use today; the same SPM pin pad will still be PCI PTS 4.1 compliant and certified until 2023.

Wayne is a part of DFS and a global provider of fuel dispensing, payment, automation, and control technologies for retail and commercial fuel stations.

The PCI Security Standards Council is a global open body formed to develop, enhance, disseminate and assist with the understanding of security standards for payment account security.
