7-Eleven has opened the first of a network of stores in Shepparton, which are expected to generate around 40 local jobs.
The Honourable Damian Drum MP and Mayor Kim O’Keeffe joined Store Manager Simon Duggan to officially open the first of what will be up to four stores in the city. It is part of 7-Eleven’s regional growth and investment strategy to drive job creation, competition, and give people in regional areas access to the same services as their metropolitan counterparts.
Alex Foley, 7-Eleven’s Regional Victoria Lead, says the company’s expansion plans provide rapid career progression opportunities for people with the right aptitudes and attitude.
“We are continuing to build our team to support this store and grow a pipeline of local talent as we work towards our second store opening in Shepparton East in the second half of 2022.
“There are still opportunities to join the team, and we are ready to invest in developing people to get them set up for career success with us as we grow our Shepparton network.”
7-Eleven is also extending its work with The Salvation Army into Shepperton and has arrangements in place for any excess food to be redirected to the Salvos.
“I’m very proud that our store will be able to help those in need, while reducing the amount of perfectly good food that might otherwise end up in landfill,” says Foley.
