The recent POPAI (Point-of-Purchase Advertising International) Marketing@Retail Awards were held across 19 categories and attracted 139 entries. Awards were presented at a black tie Gala Dinner held at Sydney’s Hilton Hotel on 1 October, with winners in the convenience/route division including Parmalat’s Engine Fridge and Streets Magnum Kisses Bollard Spinner.
POPAI Managing Director, Darren Pinks, congratulated all winners of the Marketing@Retail awards, saying it “was a tough contest in 2014”. Mr Pinks told C&I “the convenience channel continues to be a highly contested area with some of the toughest conditions to work around. When you look at the time shoppers spend in store the displays have to really cut through, and the restricted space available means they have to deliver a return for the retail. This year’s winners delivered on these objectives and showed real creativity and design that enable brand building as well as sales results.”
In the Convenience/Route Stores category the winners were:
Permanent display/fixtures:
• GOLD: Parmalat Engine Fridge (Creative Instore Solutions)
• SILVER: Coca-Cola Cold Drink Lighting (EGR Display)
• BRONZE: Universal Adaptibility (Creative Instore Solutions)
Temporary display/fixtures:
• GOLD: Streets Magnum Kisses Bollard Spinner (Ergo, Allprint Graphics)
• SILVER: Schweppes – Monster Energy Case Stacker (Staples Australia Pty Ltd)
• BRONZE: Kinder Surprise Star Wars (Sainsbury)
