Nestlé has announced the launch of its Nescafé Gold Organic in Australia, a premium grade organic and Fairtrade coffee inspired by baristas.
The high-quality coffee blend consists of Arabica coffee beans, grown and harvested in Peru by Fairtrade certified farmers.
The coffee is ethically sourced and has been classified as certified organic by the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Australia (NASAA).
The beans are ground and roasted to produce the soluble coffee packed with a richness of flavour.
Fairtrade Australia and New Zealand CEO Molly Harriss Olson said Fairtrade was a partner of Nescafé throughout the production.
“Not only can coffee lovers enjoy this quality product, they can also be confident that Fairtrade has been a sustainability partner throughout its production, from working with the coffee farmers to secure fair prices and working conditions, right through to initiatives for environmental protection and community development,” she said.
Nescafé Head of Marketing, Rebecca Dobbins said Nescafé were excited to share the new coffee.
“We’re excited to share our new premium coffee that not only tastes delicious, but is also socially conscious,” she said.
“Australians enjoy over 11 billion± cups of coffee a year and Nescafé Gold Organic is part of our ongoing efforts to prioritise sustainability, ensuring coffee lovers of the future can wake up to their favourite brew.”
Nescafé are committed to supporting farmers and their communities by investing $620m across 2010-2020 to improve the environmental impact of coffee production, sustainable landscapes and the livelihoods of farmers.
