The Convenience & Impulse Retailing New Zealand Expo, due to take place in Auckland on 8-9 September 2021, will be postponed due to increased concerns over the coronavirus.
Safa de Valois, Commercial Director of C&I, which hosts the summit in partnership with the New Zealand Association of Convenience Stores (NZACS), said: “We have a responsibility to our delegates, sponsors and staff, as well as to the wider public, and given the latest outbreak of COVID-19 in Victoria, and how quickly we are still seeing states sent back into lockdown and borders closed, we felt it was appropriate to postpone our event until vaccines have been more widely rolled out.
“The C&I Expo attracts delegates and stakeholders from across Australia and New Zealand, and the health and welfare of these people, and the wider community is paramount. While it’s disappointing we can’t hold the C&I Expo in 2021 when we had hoped to, we are confident our delegates, speakers, and sponsors will support our decision to postpone.”
The new dates for the C&I NZ Expo will be 6-7 April 2022 and we look forward to regrouping then.
Dave Hooker, Executive Director, NZACS, said: “The management committee of NZACS were consulted and supported the postponement believing early April 2022 would offer a better platform to stage the most successful event possible.”
The C&I Australian Expo is still going ahead as planned on 11-12 August 2021 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.
