Following a bumper year in 2020, Bowser Bean has refurbished its original location in Strathfieldsaye, with an expanded dine in area to provide better service to the community.
Bowser Bean was established in 2017 by Vantage Fuels, with the first location opening at Strathfieldsaye near Bendigo.
Fast forward four years and an additional 15 Bowser Bean locations, Managing Director Haydn Tierney, decided that it was time to refurbish the original site.
“Bowser Bean Strathfieldsaye was a standout for our network during the 2020 lockdowns, with many locals discovering the café and getting behind our great Bowser Bean food and coffee offer.
“Given the site’s increase in popularity, we reviewed the limited dine in café area and tight coffee crafting space and determined we could better service the local community through improving these factors and adding some additional elements from our more recent fit outs.”
The site’s refurbishment has seen an increased dining area with various styles of seating, updated lowline shelving improving the persecutive of the store, FCB machine catering to local schools, upgraded counter improving coffee workflow and customer interaction.
Bowser Bean has again collaborated with Two-Fold Projects to design a high-end café and purposeful convenience store.
A coffee wait bench designates a cosy place for customers to sit and reflect while enjoying a complementary sparkling or still water. The store features a bespoke merchandising area for region specific products such as Bendigo Brittle with polished concrete floors bringing together the multiple features.
“Our overhauled Strathfieldsaye location is another example of Bowser Bean pushing the boundaries of P&C to better service our customer. Be it busy workers, parents on the kids drop off / pick up run or coffee connoisseurs looking to catch up over a delicious brew we can make your day a little bit better,” says Tierney.
During renovations, the store found a nifty way to continue operating by deploying a temporary retail solution in the form of a 40-foot shipping container.
