Coles has launched a new technology recruitment campaign aimed at helping those re-entering the workforce to gain employment in the tech sector.
The campaign is designed to support those returning to work after a period of parental leave, caregiving, entrepreneurship, or further study, and will help create a new talent pipeline for the business.
Upon completion of the six-month training program, team members will be guaranteed a permanent position with Coles, with the first intake creating 15 new jobs including Project Manager, Delivery Lead, Senior Business Analyst, Product Manager, and Agile Coach.
John Cox, Chief Technology Officer, said the market for tech talent is more competitive than ever so having multiple pathways and opportunities that appeal to a diverse range of professionals is an important part of attracting and retaining talent.
“Our aim is to effectively provide the support, flexibility, and upskilling to help our participants have an enjoyable and productive transition back into the technology career that they love.
“This is a key part of our commitment to creating a well-rounded cohort of diverse team members and supporting career pathways for our people to grow in Technology.”
Hayley Corcoran, a Portfolio Manager who has been working with Coles Technology for 20 years, said she believes she’s very lucky to be working in an environment that has adapted to flexible working.
“By Coles Technology supporting flexible working, it has allowed me to focus on my career, without the added pressures that comes along with managing family life. I have access to great mentors, both male and female and have a great team surrounding me, this gives me the confidence and ability to balance my work and family life.”
