Cadbury Australia is donating one million meals to feed hungry families as part of its ongoing partnership with SecondBite.
With all-time cost-of-living pressures and rising food insecurity rates, research from YouGov suggests that 92 per cent of Australians say even a small gift is meaningful during the festive period.
Cadbury and SecondBite, with support from Coles, are aiming to relieve food-related stress in the lead-up to the holiday season.
Daniel Moorfield, CEO of SecondBite, said while Christmas is a time of celebration and connection, it’s important to remember that it’s also a time when many Australians are feeling financial strain and pressure.
“At SecondBite, we’re committed to spreading joy and aiding Aussie families from all corners of the country. We’re incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from Cadbury Australia, allowing us to provide one million meals to Aussies this Christmas, so families have one less thing to worry about.”
Ben Wicks, Vice President, Marketing ANZ for Mondelez International, said they are proud of their ongoing partnership with SecondBite.
“Cadbury is dedicated to making a difference, and we hope our donation relieves some of the pressures so many are facing at this time.
“In the spirit of Christmas, Cadbury is thrilled to be giving back to support families doing it tough through the festive season, in partnership with SecondBite. With two in three Australians saying they associate chocolate gifts with comfort and connection, we are looking forward to bringing joy and pleasure into the homes of Australians.”
