The Smiths Snackfood Company took out the top gong at the SPAR Australia 2023 Supplier of the Year Awards in Brisbane last week.
The awards night was held at the Eatons Hill Hotel, and attendees were treated to a three-course meal with business updates from Lou Jardin, Managing Director at SPAR Australia, and Mark McGuinness, Chief Operating Officer at SPAR Australia.
“In the world of business, partnerships are fundamental, and the relationship we forge with our suppliers is not an exception. You are an integral part of our success and tonight we come together to recognise those who have truly gone above and beyond, exceeding our expectations, and demonstrating an unwavering commitment to excellence.
“Thank you to all our suppliers for your commitment, dedication, and excellence in providing us with top quality products and services. Your contribution has been instrumental in the help in developing experiences for our customers,” said McGuinness.
During the course of the awards, guest speaker Daniel Keighran VC, spoke about his time in the war in Afghanistan and the bravery that earned him the Victoria’s Cross. Tahir Bilgiç, Australian comedian and actor, provided comic relief and got audience members involved in his hilarious hijinks.
The Smiths Snackfood Company was the big winner of the night, picking up the prestigious SPAR Supplier of the Year award as well as Convenience Foods Supplier of the Year and Promotional Support Supplier of the Year. McGuinness and Neil Worrall, State Merchandise Manager at SPAR Australia, were on hand to present the awards.
