Mondelēz has appointed Toby Smith as President of Japan, Australia and New Zealand, following the promotion of Darren O’Brien.
Smith, who has over 20 years at Mondelēz, including most recently as Vice President of Sales Australia, will succeed O’Brien, who has been promoted to the role of the company’s global Chief Corporate and Government Affairs Officer.
Deepak Iyer, Executive Vice President and President Asia, Middle East and Africa for Mondelēz International, said Smith is a dynamic leader who inspires teams to think differently and challenge the status quo in responding to the changing world of snacking and growing consumer snacking habits.
“His ability to deeply understand consumer needs, foster community impact and lead with purpose-driven passion has been instrumental in Mondelēz International growth and success and makes him ideally suited to drive continued success in the region.”
Speaking on his appointment, Smith said he has been fortunate to grow alongside an organisation that is deeply committed to innovation, community impact, and leading the future of snacking.
“I’m inspired by the opportunity to build on these attributes and continue as a preferred supplier to customers, delighting consumers across our region.”
The new appointments are effective 4 January 2025.
