Ampol Best All Rounder

Ampol names WA student as winner of Best All Rounder award

Sian Williams from Lake Joondalup Baptist College in Western Australia has been named the national winner of the 2024 Ampol Best All Rounder competition.

The annual award, now in its 39th year, recognises students for achievements in academics, sport, the arts, and community service. This year, 2,000 high schools participated nationwide.

Meaghan Davis, Executive General Manager of People and Culture at Ampol, said the Ampol Best All Rounder Award has been a key initiative to powering better journeys for students nationwide for almost four decades.

“Everyone at Ampol wishes to congratulate all of our winners, and in particular, Sian and her well-deserved accolade of 2024 Ampol Best All Rounder national winner.”

Sian was recognised for her academic excellence and community contributions, including her work with the ‘Kidzucate Take-A-Stand Against Bullying’ program. She also volunteers with Western Australia Child Safety Services, prepares meals for Ronald McDonald House, and coaches younger students in various sports.

As part of her award, Sian received a laptop, a $5,000 cash grant, and a $1,000 AmpolCash gift card. Lake Joondalup Baptist College also received a $5,000 grant.

Kimberly Eyre, Head of Future Directions at Lake Joondalup Baptist College, said Sian truly embodies the qualities of an all-rounder, demonstrating integrity and dedication in everything she does.

“Her ability to perform at a high academic standard while also participating in sports both at school and in the community clearly establishes her as an all-rounder.”

Ampol also recognised seven state winners, each receiving a $2,000 cash grant, a $1,000 AmpolCash gift card, and a $2,000 grant for their school. This year marked the first time a student from the Northern Territory was honoured.
