Bega Group has added an Australian made and owned plant-based cheese style range to its Bega brand, in both sliced and shredded formats.
Bega’s Plant Based Cheese, which is made in Strathmerton, Victoria, and cut in the Bega Valley, is a step towards ensuring the brand is positioned to take advantage of the growing plant-based segment.
Niamh Farrell, Bega Plant Based Cheese Marketing Manager, said that the new plant-based cheese has undergone sensory testing to create a smooth, creamy, cheese-style product that delivers on texture and taste.
“Bega is passionate about food and want to make sure everyone can enjoy our new Bega Plant Based Cheese. It has a great cheesy flavour and most importantly, it melts in toasties,” she said.
“The range is proudly in line with the quality of Bega’s great portfolio of products that our consumers know and love.”
The opportunity to introduce a plant-based cheese alternative is an exciting extension to Bega’s portfolio, which has been delivering great food to Australians for more than 123 years.
The new Bega Plant Based Cheddar Cheese Style is available at Coles now and through independent stores from July.
