BP has today renewed its commitment to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation by going pink to launch a national social fundraising initiative, #BPPinkPledge.
The dynamic move by BP sees flagship Sydney service station, BP Rozelle, transform from the signature BP green into McGrath Foundation pink – from pillars to pumps, with a bright pink carpet being rolled out specially for the occasion.
BP’s Pink Pledge campaign encourages everyone to snap and share a photo of themselves taking the #BPPinkPledge, with their hand on heart. For each photo posted publically to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram from 2-8 October using the hashtag #BPPinkPledge, BP Australia will donate 20 cents to McGrath Foundation. (Note: Photography is not permitted on BP station forecourts for safety reasons.)
Kyly Clarke – face of the campaign – helped kick-start the initiative at BP Rozelle today by making her own BP Pink Pledge. Commenting at the campaign launch today, Kyly said, “I’m really proud to be taking the BP Pink Pledge for McGrath Foundation today. I’d encourage women across Australia to do the same to help raise funds to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia and increase breast awareness in young Australians.”
Peri Hunter, General Manager Retail – BP Australia, added: “BP is proud to support the McGrath Foundation, whose wonderful work funding Breast Care Nurses nationally is appreciated by all Australians. Every BP Pink Pledge captured will go directly towards supporting this very worthwhile cause.”
“Our McGrath Breast Care Nurses have helped support more than 25,000 families experiencing breast cancer in Australia. Funds raised from BP’s Pink Pledge will help us on our mission to ensure every woman experiencing breast cancer has access to a dedicated McGrath Breast Care Nurse.” Said McGrath Foundation CEO, Petra Buchanan.
From 2 – 8 October 2014, BP will make an additional donation per litre of BP branded fuel or Autogas (excluding Adblue) sold at participating BP stores to McGrath Foundation as part of their BP Pink Pledge campaign, up to the maximum of $200,000.
To make a difference and help raise funds for the McGrath Foundation, head to participating BP stores or post your BP Pink Pledge using the hashtag #BPPinkPledge from 2 – 8 October 2014.
