Cashback platform Cashrewards has named former Flybuys and Coles senior executive Anthony Seymour-Walsh as its new CEO.
Seymour-Walsh was most recently Chief Commercial Officer at Flybuys, where he was responsible for the loyalty offer encompassing partner relationships, rewards, data and analytics, and digital marketing.
Seymour-Walsh, who starts in the role on 1 February, said he was looking forward to joining a purpose-driven business that has a clear vision to support its growing network of partners.
“Australians remain somewhat sceptical of the cashback sector, with only around one in ten using a cashback platform, which is significantly lower than other developed markets overseas. There’s clearly a big opportunity to transform this relationship and deliver even more value to Australian shoppers.
“As the market leader, Cashrewards has the size and scale to be central to this growth as we continue to deepen partnerships with merchants and evolve our consumer proposition through greater personalisation and ever-improving member experiences.”
Ron Spector, Chairman at Cashrewards, said the appointment comes at an exciting time of growth and opportunity for the company.
“We are pleased to have found a CEO with proven experience across loyalty programs, retail partnerships and digital marketing. These are core elements of our proposition and will allow Anthony to hit the ground running and continue to drive growth of our business and showcase the still untapped value cashback presents for all Australians, especially in the current economic climate.”
Since its foundation in 2014, Cashrewards has given over $165 million back to its 1.7 million customers, and has donated over $1 million to the Starlight Foundation through its pledge to donate one per cent of every cash reward redeemed.
