Chevron Australia has announced funding for 24 community organisations in the West Pilbara through its Community Spirit Fund (CSF).
Established in 2007, the CSF supports not-for-profit organisations across Shark Bay to Port Hedland, with grants of up to $15,000 to enhance health, education, environmental sustainability, and inclusivity. Over its 17 years, the fund has contributed more than $2.25 million to over 400 projects.
The latest round of grants will see initiatives such as dog therapy at Baynton West Primary School, sensory pods for Exmouth District High School, and an art bus for Yinjaa Barni Aboriginal Corporation brought to life.
Ciara Griffiths, Chevron Australia’s Communities and Partnership Manager, praised the recipients for their innovative and impactful projects, which address diverse community needs.
2024 CSF Grant Recipients Include:
- Baynton West Primary School: Dog therapy to support student wellbeing.
- Dampier P&C: Library refurbishment.
- Exmouth Volunteer Marine Group: A localised weather station.
- Point Sampson Community Hall: Painting community hall.
- Self Made Girls Incorporated: Empowering girls in entrepreneurship.
Additional projects cover mental health initiatives, tutoring for rural students, support for cancer patients, and infrastructure upgrades like grandstands, marquees, and equipment purchases.
The next round of CSF applications opens in mid-2025, with eligible not-for-profit organisations encouraged to apply for a chance to make a difference.
