C&I Media, publisher of Convenience and Impulse (C&I) Retailing Magazine and C-store.com.au, has appointed Colin Long as national petroleum editor of C&I Retailing Magazine.
Long brings to the position 10 years’ experience with the Service Station Association (SSA), including five years as its senior manager and media spokesperson for the Motor Traders’ Association of NSW.
Prior to the SSA, Long had a 20 year management career in the oil industry, including roles at SSO and Ampol; plus senior management position in the transport and logistics industry, including at Brambles, Mayne Nickless, Linfox; and facilities management with Colliers International.
Degree qualified in economics, Long is a member of the Institute of Energy, the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport, Hon President of the Fort Street Foundation and a Justice of the Peace.
Commenting on Long’s appointment, Safa de Valois, commercial director and publisher of C&I, said: “Retail petroleum matters in Australia these days receive very little trade media coverage”.
“The state motor industry associations have almost nothing to say on petroleum matters and Australia’s one national petroleum industry magazine ceased publication late last year.
“So we took the decision at C&I to step in and provide some of the that the petroleum industry coverage that the trade needs. C&I already goes to all of Australia’s petroleum industry retailers, so this is a natural step for the magazine,” de Valois said
“We are honoured and delighted to have Colin join us as part of the C&I editorial team.”
