Cigarette prices rose from 1 September, for the second time in 2018.
The rise was 12.5%, equivalent to a 9cent-per-stick rise.
According to News.com.au, the average price of a 25 pack of cigarettes rose from $25-$30 to $28.25-$33.90.
An analysis by finder.com.au found that a pack-a-day smoker will spend close to $922 per month, an increase of over $100 per month.
