Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) are pulling up their declining sales by engaging in person-to-person sales techniques.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald (SMH), CCA will “flood corner stores and cafes…with salespeople” to halt a decline in sales across the Sydney CBD.
The SMH said consumers are turning to healthier brands, resulting in the decline in sales.
CCA managing director Alison Watkins told SMH the company has spent around $10 million to hire 97 extra sales reps to focus on corner stores and cafes.
“These are some of the areas where we have been losing volume,” Ms Watkins said.
“A lot of these traditional outlets have been closing and new trendy cafes have been opening, and we had been probably assuming that those customers would be comfortable dealing with us through phone and online channels and hadn’t been investing in the face-to-face visitation of those customers.”
