Rapid Click&Collect is Coles’s latest innovation, allowing customers to order and collect groceries within a 60-minute window.
Launched yesterday at Coles Southland in Victoria, the announcement comes on the heels of Deliveroo and Voly’s shock departure from their respective Australian operations, leaving a gap in the market for quick and convenient food and grocery solutions.
Steven Cain, Chief Executive Officer at Coles, said consumers are increasingly looking for more convenient ways to shop, seeking out solutions that allow them the most flexibility to shop at a time and place that is convenient for them.
“Our research shows the number one consideration for online shoppers is convenience and for click and collect customers it’s immediate collection.
“Rapid Click&Collect in under 60 minutes will make it easier for customers to have their groceries conveniently delivered to their car boot as quickly as possible when they don’t have time to shop inside the store,” he said.
After a successful pilot program launched earlier this year, this service is now available in almost 400 Coles stores nationwide, with 200 more stores to be added early in 2023.
“Our Rapid Click&Collect service has grown in popularity since launching in February last year,” said Cain.
The Rapid Click&Collect service offers orders from an extended range of over 20,000 products, including items not available to home delivery customers, like alcohol and their popular pre-cooked chickens.
Customers can place an order for up to 40 items, with a minimum spend of $30 and a flat fee of $5 for orders to be picked, packed and ready for collection in under 60 minutes between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm daily. Coles Plus members will continue to receive free Rapid Click&Collect as part of their membership subscription benefits.
