A workplace accident has claimed the life of a 57-year-old man at Tip Top’s manufacturing site in Chullora, Sydney on Thursday.
Police confirmed that the man had been seriously injured after he became trapped by a forklift before dying at the Muir Road factory.
In a statement, Tip Top said it is deeply saddened by the incident and that all employees are being offered counselling services.
“The health and safety of our people and communities at Tip Top is our highest priority and treated very seriously.”
Operations at the site were paused but are expected to resume at 3pm today. Tip Top is cooperating with SafeWork NSW and NSW Police.
Tip Top said that the incident will impact deliveries on Friday and over the weekend.
On Friday 25 November, there will be no deliveries, while on Saturday 26 November, there will be limited capacity and Tip Top will therefore be unable to assist with any other adjustments to Saturday deliveries.
“If there are any further changes to your delivery schedule, additional communication will be provided.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding and support during this time.”
