Victorians will soon be able to pick up a Doughnut Time doughnut when they refuel at Ampol service stations, as the petrol retailer and dessert company partner to offer customers a fresh, hand-made alternative.
“Doughnut Time is a new offering at Ampol and will provide customers with another fresh, ‘delivered daily’ product,” says Sky Jackson, General Manager of Merchandise at Ampol.
“Doughnut Time will continue to allow us to be flexible with our range, keeping things exciting and relevant for our customers,” she said.
Entering liquidation in 2018 after an overly ambitious expansion strategy, Doughnut Time went from a peak of 30 stores nationally to just three in a few short years.
With a new owner and a new strategy, Doughnut Time doughnuts will first be trialled in Victorian Ampol outlets, with national expansion to follow in 2023.
“The trial of Doughnut Time in Victoria is reflective of our appetite to offer new and exciting range to our customers. We are hopeful that, pending a successful rollout in Victoria, we can roll this out to other states across our national footprint,” said Jackson.
Still offering the same creatively named, brightly coloured and vegan-friendly options that made the hand-made treats so popular in the past, the partnership will be a boost for both parties, says Jackson.
“Ampol’s new relationship with Doughnut Time is yet another example of Ampol taking pride in supporting emerging local businesses delivering brilliant products.
“Doughnut Time produce a differentiated and quality product, which many customers wouldn’t have otherwise had access to until now.
“The proposition put forward by Doughnut Time is something that we are truly excited to support and initial results and consumer sentiment are promising.”
