Grocery wholesaler to independents and marketer of the IGA supermarket banner Metcash Limited has announced a re-organisation that will see the chief executive responsible for supermarkets leave the company.
Fergus Collins, CEO Supermarkets, has decided to leave the business after 13 years. Fergus has made a significant contribution to the Group over this time, particularly through his leadership of ALM and more recently to establish the foundations of Project Diamond, Metcash said.
Until a new CEO Supermarkets is appointed, group chief executive officer, Ian Morrice will personally take on the day to day running of the Supermarkets business to ensure the momentum of the Diamond transformation is maintained with its focus on improving underlying performance.
To support this, the Group’s corporate functions will report to the new chief financial officer, Brad Soller.
Group CEO Ian Morrice said: “I would like to record our thanks to Fergus for his commitment and wish him well for the future.”
