FruChoc Appreciation Day is this Friday and to celebrate its creator, confectioner Robern Menz, has organised a festivity filled day at Rundle Mall, Adelaide.
Robern Menz CEO Phil Sims said: “This year we asked ourselves how we could make it even bigger and better for the people of South Australia and honestly, it’s tough to top a day dedicated to eating FruChocs – unless it was also a public holiday!”
The day will include free face-painting, music, cake, fairy loss, a photobooth, games and more. There will be appearances from locally loved mascots Thunda of Port Adelaide Football Club, Murray Magpie of Adelaide 36ers’, Tori T-Bird of Adelaide Thunderbirds and SA icons Larry Lamington and Mr Frog Cake.
In nearby Glenelg at the restaruant Seafire on the Marina you will find a limited edition FruChoc flavoured dry age steak accompanied by a FruChoc inspired dessert and cocktail, which will be available all weekend.
Seafire on the Marina co-owner Justin Daysh said: “FruChocs are an iconic South Australian treat, and when the opportunity presented itself to collaborate with our unique flavoured dry aged steaks, we couldn’t be more excited! It’s a chance for customers to enjoy two of their favourite flavours in an exciting new way.”
A FruChoc scented candle, with packaging inspired by local designer Casey C. will be on offer for $20. The distinctly South Australian candle’s scent is described as “like early mornings at the Central market, with a hint of Malls Balls, blended with the thrill of victory at Adelaide oval, delicately balanced with essence of Giant Rocking Horse, Larry the Lobster and Glenelg Jetty.”
