The C&I team have rounded up some fun facts about this year’s Convenience & Impulse (C&I) Convention & Expo in partnership with the Australasian Association of Convenience Stores (AACS).
24 – The number of years the C&I Expo has provided convenience channel retailers from all banners and brands and suppliers with the chance to come together. The C&I Expo is Australia’s national trade exhibition and convention program designed for every retailer who depends on impulse and convenience sales. This year, the C&I Expo will be held on Wednesday, August 17 and Thursday, August 18 at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre.
1 – This year is the first time the Australasian Association of Convenience Stores (AACS) has joined forces with the C&I team to create an even bigger and better event. AACS will conduct the AACS Leadership Summit plus the AACS Peter Jowett Convenience Industry Scholarship Awards as part of the combined AACS/C&I Event. The AACS Gala Award Dinner will be held on the evening of Wednesday, August, 17, 2016.
12 – There will be 12 speakers presenting at three conference sessions. Speakers include Steve Simpson, Author and Consultant; Scott Hartman, President of Rutters USA; Craig Urquhart, CEO NightOwl Convenience Stores; Lou Jardin, MD Spar Australia; Leo Pucar, GM Consumer Sales, Caltex Australia; Eddy Nader, MD Nader Petroleum, Urbanista Café; Dion Taylor, Director Last Stop Convenience; Jim Findikakis Business Broker; Bob Little, Owner Spar Maclean; Hugh Edwards-Neil, Channel Development Manager Retail IRI formerly Aztec; Jeff Griffiths, MD Endeavour Petroleum; and Dr Gary Mortimer, Senior Lecturer – Advertising, Marketing and PR, QUT Business School.
60 – More than 60 per cent of exhibitor stands have been booked and will range from shelf and beverage lines to convenience food and capital equipment for store and forecourt.
