A massive $50,000 worth of stock is up for grabs for one lucky retailer at the C&I Expo on 19-20 October 2023 at the ICC Sydney.
The giveaway is open to independent convenience, petrol, and grocery retailers, who simply need to attend the expo and be there for the draw for the chance to win big.
Safa de Valois, Group Publisher of C&I Media, said he recognises the sacrifice retailers make when they step away from the shop for a day and wanted to maximise that experience for them with the fantastic array of exhibitors and products they can discover.
“Independent retailers typically have fewer resources and support structures around them, so even getting to the expo can be a challenge. With their time in mind, we keep the Symposium short and sharp so they can dive in for a couple of hours and pick up relevant, targeted information to implement in their convenience business.”
At C&I’s New Zealand Expo in October last year, the winner of the pallet giveaway was a remote store from the southernmost tip of the South Island.
“Making the trip all the way up for our expo was a big commitment from them, and then we learned that all their cash reserves had been spent during lockdown keeping their staff employed rather than buying stock.
“It was such a thrill to know we’d been able to help get them back on track. Plus, they were able to sample products they wouldn’t normally choose and ended up ordering more, so it was a win for our exhibitors, too,” said de Valois.
de Valois thanked the suppliers for their generosity in donating to the giveaway, which features products from Coca-Cola EuroPacific Partners, Sanitarium, Carman’s Kitchen, Meris, Funday Sweets, Ty Beanies, Vend Data Media Solutions, Off Piste, Halo Food Co, and many more.
Lisa Schilling-Thomson, National Sales Manager at Halo Food Co, said it is important to support independent retailers, as they are the heart and soul of Australian retailing.
“Most are locally owned, servicing their local communities, employing local staff, and driving their local economy.
“If one of these retailers were to win $50K of stock, this would enable them to increase their overall profitability, which would then enable them to grow their business, employ more local people, and overall be able to give back to their local community.”
In addition to the C&I Expo, each morning there is a C&I Industry Symposium for retailers and suppliers to attend. The line-up of expert speakers will deliver presentations on issues affecting the P&C industry, filled with insights and data, future trends, and innovations.
Most importantly, attendees will learn how these relate directly to their business and how they can implement changes to stay at the forefront of convenience retailing.
