Coca-Cola has released its latest government-approved beverage into the Japanese market- Coca-Cola Plus.
Each white labelled bottle of Coca-Cola Plus contains five grams of indigestible dextrin, promoted as a drink that can suppress fat absorption.
A CNN review of the original beverage in 2009 said “it is like drinking an ultra-sweet cola-flavored jelly with a heavy dose of faux citrus and a biting carbonation,” Pedestrian TV reported.
So far, Coca-Cola has reported that the beverage is a success.
However, anyone who consumes the product and is not aware of it’s extra properties may have some issues.
Coca-Cola Japan EVP Khalil Younes said ” you may have loose bowels from overconsumption”.
It is currently unknown if the beverage will be sold in any other countries.
