Iconic poultry company Lenard’s appoints Steve Smith as their new Regional Sales Manager for New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.
As a former store owner with experience with Coles, Woolworths, IGA and Metcash, Smith brings a deep understanding of the independent food market to the role.
Harry Rumpler, Chief Executive Officer at Lenard’s, says he’s confident Smith’s extensive experience will greatly benefit the company.
“We need good people. People are the building blocks of any successful business. Steve will add to our strong base of good people.
“Steve’s understanding of the independent sector will ensure our continued growth as we roll out our distribution and product strategies. We see Steve’s relationships with retailers as a key to our success,” says Rumpler.
“It’s an awesome team up in Queensland, and Harry has everyone working as one unit with one goal,” says Smith.
With an existing working relationship spanning more than a decade, the partnership was a natural progression, with Smith officially joining the team at Lenard’s last month.
“Lenard’s is just a sensational product with great packaging, well-priced, extremely tasty and the fact it’s frozen-thawback means it’s easy for retailers to manage.
“Being a former store owner, I know how important wastage and margin is,” says Smith.
A recent partnership with Metcash, Australia’s leading wholesale distribution company and largest supplier to independent supermarkets, as well as this new appointment, signals a clear aim to increase Lenard’s market share further.
“My aim is for Lenard’s to be stocked at as many stores as possible and to help retailers sell as much stock as possible with excellent margin, so it’s a win/win,” says Smith.
