At the BRW Best Places to Work 2014 Study awards ceremony held in Sydney on the 11 September, Mars Australia was the only food manufacturing business to be listed in the top 25, ranking twentieth in the list.
The Mars Australia entry represented over 2,000 Mars Associates employed across four segments for: Mars Chocolate in Ballarat VIC; Mars Petcare in Wodonga and Bathurst NSW, and Wacol QLD; Wrigley in Asquith NSW and Scoresby VIC; and Mars Food in Berkeley Vale NSW.
Mars produces many brands seen in the convenience channel such as: M&M’S®, Snickers®, Galaxy®, Mars®, Extra®, Eclipse® and 5™, Skittles® and Starburst® as well as brands such asMasterfoods®, Uncle Ben’s®, Dolmio®, Kan Tong®, Pedigree®, Whiskas® , Dine® and Nutro®.
Over 91% of Mars Associates said the company is great place to work despite challenging times that facing the manufacturing sector.
The study’s Culture Audit© recognized the company for initiatives in areas including staff development opportunities, flat structure, health and wellbeing, community involvement and recognition program such as the Mars ‘Make the Difference’ awards.
