Nestlé has announced a restructure of their geographic zones along with changes to its Executive Board to take place 1 January 2022.
The geographic zones will now be organised into five different zones – Zone North America (NA), Zone Latin America (LA TAM), Zone Europe (EUR), Zone Asia, Oceania and Africa (AOA), and Zone Greater China (GC).
Mark Schneider, Nestlé S.A. CEO, said of the changes: “With the new Zone structure, we will significantly sharpen our geographic focus to drive sustained profitable growth everywhere we operate. This move will bring us closer to consumers and customers, unlock new business opportunities and enable us to be even more agile in a fast-moving consumer environment.”
Chris Johnson, currently Executive Vice President and CEO Zone Asia, Oceania and sub-Saharan Africa, will retire on 31 December 2021, after a 38-year career at Nestlé. Johnson will continue to advise the newly formed Zone AOA during the transition period and will depart the company on 31 January 2022.
Steve Presley, current chairman and CEO Nestlé USA, will join the Executive Board as Executive Vice President and CEO Zone North America. David Zhang, current CEO of Nestlé’s food seasoning business Totole, will join the Executive Board as Vice President and CEO Zone Greater China, and Remy Ejel, current Market Head Middle East North Africa will join the Executive Board as Executive Vice President and CEO Zone AOA.
Other changes include Laurent Freixe leading the newly established one LATM as Executive Vice President and CEO Zone LATAM, and Marco Settembri will lead Zone EUR as CEO and Executive Vice President.
