Frucor Suntory has appointed Joanne Van Den Berg as its new Head of Safety and Wellbeing.
Ms Van Den Berg has a strong background in safety, including stints at Air New Zealand where her work earned a WorkSafe NZ/ACC best overall contribution to improving workplace health and safety in NZ award at the Safeguard Awards in 2019. Most recently, she led the Department of Correction’s COVID-19 Safety & Wellbeing response.
In her new role, Ms Van Den Berg will be tasked with driving health, safety and wellbeing awareness to create a safer work environment across its manufacturing and business operations and 1,000 employees.
“I want safety to be part of our DNA – a core value we embrace, where safety is inherent in all our systems and processes, people instinctively operate safely and challenge others to do the same. A workplace where our people can truly thrive.”
“Ultimately, safety is about people. It’s about embracing the things that go right and collaborating to find solutions so we can all go home to our families and friends safe and well, healthy in mind and body, each and every day.”
She will be based in Auckland for the role.
