At 140sqm, the Woolworths Metro Albert Park in Melbourne might be small in size, but it certainly isn’t short on quality.
Lachlan Drummond, National Format Manager Woolworths Metro, said they have taken great care in designing the store in a way that is sensitive to the existing village look and feel of the area.
“Located at the site of the former Commonwealth Bank building, the store has been purposefully designed to meet the specific planning controls of the heritage protected building.”
Utilising every square inch of space available, the old Commonwealth Bank safe located at the back of the building has been transformed into the store cool room, and the old Bank Manager’s house upstairs has been converted into tea rooms and office space for the team.
Drummond said they’re always looking to find ways to improve the convenience for its customers and the smaller format store means it is easily accessible and quick to navigate, allowing customers to pick up a range of quality fresh foods and top-up essentials quickly.
“We know customers are increasingly looking for conveniently located stores with healthier options and food choices.
“With a focus on freshness and convenience, the new Metro store features a curated product range perfect for customers looking to top-up on their groceries, along with fresh, quality food they can eat now, on the go, or grab for later.”
The store has almost 3000 SKUs available including an extensive mix of fresh produce and everyday grocery items.
