The National Cash Register (NCR) Corporation has launched the NCR Silver, point-of-sale (POS) solution to Australian retailers and merchants.
NCR Silver is an integrated payment system that transforms a tablet into a complete POS system, capable of reporting sales, employee management and inventory.
The new POS system is aimed at small business merchants and businesses requiring a mobile solution for completing transactions.
Sydney restaurant Arepas Australia was one of the first businesses to use the NCR POS system and owner Ybrahim Camero described it as very easy to use.
“With NCR Silver, I can see trends, I can do email marketing, I can see what my top seller is. It’s a super comprehensive system that gives me everything I need,” he said.
NCR regional director Asia Pacific Adam McArdle said that NCR was developed specifically with the small business market in mind.
“We understand the challenges small businesses face, and what’s going to make an impact on their bottom line and the value they place on customers,” he said.
“We’re confident that this new offering will help them manage and grow their business.”
NCR Silver was made available for both iOS and Android devices.
The suite of software solutions includes:
- NCR Silver core app – offers mobile payments, intuitive sales reporting, integrated loyalty and more, and is suitable for small to medium-sized businesses.
- NCR Silver Pro Restaurant Edition app – designed for food-service merchants who want to serve customers faster, optimise staffing, manage table locations, and provide promotional pricing and more.
NCR Silver general manager Chris Poelma said NCR’s focus is delivering flexible technology.
“NCR Silver has a low cost of entry and quick, professional implementation support so customers can get up and running faster with minimal disruption,” he said.
