SPAR has opened a new store in Broadmeadow, Newcastle, blending everyday essentials with a unique Korean twist.
Alongside its range of grocery products and everyday essentials, the Broadmeadow SPAR offers a variety of Korean groceries, K-cosmetics, and freshly prepared Korean food-to-go.
Lou Jardin, Managing Director of SPAR Australia, welcomed new store owners Jayden and Claire Park into the SPAR family.
“Their unique vision of incorporating Korean products alongside SPAR’s everyday offerings is a perfect example of the innovation and diversity we encourage within our network. We look forward to seeing their success in bringing a fresh and exciting shopping experience to the local community.”
Jayden Park said they wanted to bring something fresh to the Newcastle community while maintaining the convenience and value that SPAR is known for, explaining that the Korean food-to-go section has been well received, and particularly the K-chicken.
“Korean fried chicken is known for its crispy texture and flavourful sauces, and we’re excited to offer that to our customers. Whether they’re grabbing lunch or dinner on the run, we’ve made sure the flavours are authentic, and the quality is high. It’s been a hit with locals who are either familiar with Korean cuisine or just curious to try something new.”
In addition to its Korean food and grocery items, the store also features a dedicated section for Korean skincare products, with Claire Park describing Korean beauty as about taking care of your skin in a thoughtful, natural way.
“We’ve brought in a curated selection of products to help locals explore these trends. Whether you’re a skincare novice or a seasoned K-beauty fan, we’ve got something for everyone.”
The store also has over 2000 items in the SPAR Payless Everyday program which offers customers competitive prices on essentials like fresh produce, pantry staples and household goods.
“Our goal is to provide the best value for our customers while offering something unique,” explained Jayden Park. “With the Payless program, we’re able to deliver great prices without compromising on quality.”
SPAR Broadmeadow is located at Shop 5, 7A Griffiths Road in Broadmeadow, Newcastle.
