PepsiCo Australia has been awarded the 2017-2018 Employer of Choice for Gender Equality, for the fourth year in a row.
Awarded by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency, the citation was granted to PepsiCo in recognition of its ongoing efforts and commitment to champion gender equality in the workplace.
Over the past year, PepsiCo made improvements to its parental leave policy by boosting its paid leave scheme from 12 to 16 weeks; supported more women to progress into senior roles, with 41.5% now holding senior leadership positions; and ensured pay equity was apparent throughout the business by focusing on the talent and performance of all staff.
Senior HR Director Shiona Watson said: “At PepsiCo, we are constantly working towards developing a workplace that is recognised for its diverse and inclusive culture. What I’m really proud of is that this recognition is reflective of everyone’s efforts across our organisation. Our people play a huge role and really do drive our commitment to gender diversity”.
PepsiCo Australia and NZ CEO Robbert Rietbroek said: “I am passionate about making PepsiCo a workplace where everyone can access flexibility and balance their personal commitments, alongside their work commitments.
“It’s a phenomenal achievement to receive this award for the fourth year in a row. I recognise this award is reflective of the efforts of the leaders and teams across the entire organisation and this wouldn’t have been achievable without the support of so many staff advocating for gender equality. We have made remarkable progress over the past year, and we will continue to strive towards modelling this throughout all areas of our business”.
