A popular spread sold at IGA and independent supermarkets has been recalled after it was found to contain an undeclared allergen.
Health focussed brand Pana Organic’s peanut butter chocolate spread (200g) was found to contain traces of tree nuts cashew and pistachio, which could cause anaphylaxis, a potentially life threatening allergic reaction in those with a tree nut allergy.
Affected jars include those with the best before date of February 5, 2021 and with the APN/EAN of 9346758002387. The jars had been sold nationally between February 18-June 24 this year.
Those with an allergy/intolerance have been warned not to consumer the spread and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
