Proform Foods winds up after failed restructure attempt

Proform Food Group, the manufacturer of plant-based protein brand MEET, will wind up after a restructure of the company was not able to be achieved.

The company and its subsidiaries, which include the MEET, Protein Plate, and Bad Hunter brands, was placed into voluntary administration in May with Gayle Dickerson and James Dampney from KPMG Australia appointed voluntary administrators.

At the time, Dampney, Restructuring Partner at KPMG Australia, said Proform is a well-established business in a sector with compelling medium term growth prospects.

A notice from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (Asic) on 28 August, showed a resolution was passed that the company be wound up voluntarily.

Established in 2005 by Stephen Dunn, Proform Foods describes itself as “a pioneer in alternative, plant-based protein source and forming technology” with its products stocked at supermarkets including Coles and Woolworths.
