Romeo’s Retail Group has opened the doors to its new look 1000sqm boutique supermarket at the MLC Centre on Martin Place in Sydney’s CBD.
The South Australia-based Romeo’s Retail Group operates around 35 stores in South Australia and NSW across the IGA, Supa IGA and Foodland banners.
Its latest, IGA Romeo’s Food Hall, is located beneath the MLC Centre’s redeveloped food court and will operate seven days a week from 6am to 10pm. The $2 million store features a gourmet grocer, bakery, deli, cheese bar, instore café, a premium meat and fish section, and dedicated health and beauty space.
Joseph Romeo, Store Owner of IGA’s Romeo’s Food Hall, said he expected to attract city workers, commuters and local residents.
“It is important that our new store meets the needs of busy commuters and whether looking for quality take home meals, fresh produce or staple grocery lines, they will find it all at one convenient location,” Romeo said.
Metcash CEO, Ian Morrice, said IGA Romeo’s Food Hall at the MLC Centre epitomises the value independent retailers can deliver through a tailored offering.

IGA Romeo’s Food Hall will complement a range of new food court tenants at the MLC Centre, including Neil Perry’s Burger Project, Schnitz, and Bun Me.
