Each year the Australasian Association of Convenience Stores (AACS) holds the Peter Jowett Convenience Industry Award, which offers those in the convenience industry the opportunity to shine on the local and global stage and win a trip to the NACS Show in Atlanta.
The AACS Peter Jowett Convenience Industry Award is a unique opportunity for AACS members to challenge others in Australia and internationally in thinking about the convenience industry.
This year the topic is, “In light of increasing competition, particularly from supermarkets, pharmacies, dollar stores and low price retailers, how can convenience stores enhance value in order to generate profitable and sustainable growth?”
Candidates are to submit a one page biography plus a written paper/PowerPoint presentation on this topic.
Submissions will be assessed by local judges with three finalists selected from each two groups (AACS Supplier and Retailer member). Finalists will then present at the annual AACS Convenience Leaders Summit, held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in Melbourne, where AACS Audience members will vote to select the best presentation from each group.
Two winners (one from each group) will travel to Atlanta in October to compete with international finalists for the international award.
AACS member companies are invited to select young candidates, no older than 36 years of age on May 31, 2016, for this year’s competition.
Participants must be employed by association members and may not have previously received an AACS Scholarship Award/Peter Jowett Scholarship Award.
Intending participants should contact AACS CEO Jeff Rogut on jeff@aacs.org.au by Friday, March 18, 2016.
Submissions are required no later than Friday, May 20, 2016.
