The Natural Confectionery Co. is the latest brand to go vegan.
The brand has just released a gelatine-free product in its Vegan Fruity Flavoured Jellies, due to hit stores this week. The mixed bag features crisp apple, wild blackcurrant, luscious peach, tropical pineapple and ripe raspberry flavours.
Marketing director, candy, biscuits and meals for The Natural Confectionery Co. Australia, Lauren Fildes, said the product was driven by a groundswell of consumer demand for vegan options.
“We couldn’t ignore the requests from Aussies asking for a Vegan-friendly option. We believe all lolly lovers deserve to enjoy The Natural Confectionery Co.’s delicious jellies, so we’re proud to be able to offer Australians a sensational new product that doesn’t compromise on taste.”
There are close to 500,000 Australians opting for a vegan lifestyle in Australia and 2.5 million vegetarians, according to Vegan Australia.
The jellies will be available in Coles and independent stores from mid-August and will launch in Woolworths store in mid-September. They retail for $4 per 200g bag.
I find this very offensive… Vegan is a lifestyle choice!!
Why, in this day and age, does your confectionery contain wheat?
Coeliac is a medical condition… more and more people are diagnosed with Coeliac disease … surely you can stop using glucose syrup (wheat) and use wholly gluten syrup (corn) in your products?
Gluten intolerance in individuals is a major health risk ( diagnosed and undiagnosed), please look at the wheat addition in your confectionery and consider the number of sales you are losing by its presence
Thanks

Pam, you are a plonker.
