Bradley Shaw from PMI will speak at the C&I 2024 Industry Symposium to provide insight into the illicit tobacco trade in Australia.
The Australian Association of Convenience Stores (AACS) 2024 Mid-Year State of Industry Report revealed that the tobacco category continues to face significant challenges from illicit tobacco and vaping.
In the first half of 2024, the category declined by 13.8 per cent, primarily due to a 15.5 per cent drop in unit sales, with the black market for illegal tobacco and nicotine vaping products playing a large role in this decline.
Bradley Shaw, Manager of External Affairs and Communications at Philip Morris International (PMI), said that his presentation will provide insights into the size and scale of the illicit tobacco market in Australia and what needs to be done to address it.
“The industry working collaboratively leads to better outcomes for all, retailers, suppliers, and customers. We all bring something different to the table and offer unique insights and approaches leading to more effective solutions to our collective problems.”
Before joining PMI in 2022, Shaw worked in state and federal government ministerial offices and in highly regulated commercial industries, including oil and gas and mining.
The symposium, which is held each morning before the C&I Expo, is an invaluable opportunity for businesses to gain knowledge, network with peers, and discover the latest technologies and solutions to drive their business forward.
