Detectives have released CCTV footage of an armed robbery of a service station near Tweed Heads over the weekend.
Police were called to the service station, located on Tweed Coast Road, Hastings Point, at about 10:30pm on March 30 to respond to reports of an armed robbery.
Upon arrival, the officers from Tweed/Byron Police District were told a man had threatened a store employee with a firearm before taking cash and leaving the scene.
Police are calling for public assistance in the matter and have released CCTV footage of a man they believe may be able to assist in inquiries.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, in his 30s, with a medium build, a thin face, and about 180cm tall. He was last seen wearing a light purple hooded jumper, black shorts with red pockets, white shoes, and black socks.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged not to approach him but to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
