Voting has opened for the Australian Association of Convenience Stores (AACS) Supplier Board member role, with five strong nominees.
Nominees for the position are Chris Burgon, Suntory Oceania, Nicola Richardson, Asahi Lifestyle Beverages, Iain Kirsch, Metcash, David Forde, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, and Andrew Poore, Pacific Optics.
The role of the AACS Board members is to support the CEO in the development of strategic priorities for the convenience retail industry.
Theo Foukkare, CEO of AACS, said that given the current retail environment and challenges facing the industry today and into the future, AACS Board members, through their vast experience, provide guidance and insight into helping shape the future of the industry.
“The fact that five senior leaders have expressed interest in a single board role is a testament to the importance of the convenience retail industry to all the nominees, especially given their intent to use their experience to give back to the industry and help shape its future together.
“AACS Board members always ensure that both retailer and supplier voices from within the industry are clearly heard and incorporated into the AACS Strategic plan.”
As the AACS Board roles are voluntary, Foukkare expressed his thanks for the commitment of time and insights from all board members now and into the future.
Voting closes at 5pm, Friday, 19 July 2024.
