WA commits $500,000 to boost food and beverage businesses

The WA Government is offering $500,000 in vouchers to small and medium-sized businesses to take their operations to the next level.

The Agrifood and Beverage vouchers can be used by businesses across five categories, including business planning, manufacturing for business growth, sales and marketing, financial health, and environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

Jackie Jarvis, Agriculture and Food Minister, said the Agrifood and Beverage Voucher Program is a real success story, lifting up WA agrifood and beverage businesses to achieve their goals and capture enduring benefits to local communities and the economy.

“Over the past six years, this program has supported a diverse range of businesses – from speciality food and baked products, to dairy, honey and seafood, to coffee and confectionery through to beer, wine, spirits and more – from the north to the south of the State.”

The program helps businesses build international competitiveness, improve efficiencies, enhance green credentials, and create jobs.

Eligible small-to-medium enterprises will be required to have an annual sales turnover of between $100,000 and $50 million, with the maximum value of a voucher that a business can apply for being dependent on the annual sales turnover of that business.

Since its inception in 2018, 355 vouchers valued at $1.9 million have given WA businesses access to professional expertise to identify opportunities, overcome challenges and realise potential.

Businesses can apply for the vouchers here. Applications close 5pm Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
