Adelaide customers could be living the shopping dream, with Woolworths lodging plans for a new drive-through service.
The supermarket retailer lodged a development application with Charles Sturt Council to build a dedicated area in the car park of the Armada Arndale shopping centre in Kilkenny for pre-orders.
Customers who use the store’s click-and-collect service would then need only drive up to one of three proposed stations to pick up their order – without the pain of finding a parking spot or entering the centre. Woolworths employees would even load their car for them.
It’s the latest in the retailer’s roll-out of the service, which it last year announced would be coming to multiple stores around the country.
Armada Adndale also features rivals Coles and Aldi, as well as a cinema and other retail stores.
In the DA, which is currently on public display, Woolworths have stated they expect the proposed plans would have a minimal impact on the centre or its customers, including on traffic flow.
The proposal will be assessed by council following the closure of public submissions on the DA tomorrow.
