Yoplait has emerged as the number one yoghurt brand, according to data from IRI Scan weekly.
The IRI shopper panel data for the week ending May 10 showed that in the first quarter of the year, 20.8% of households – roughly 2 million households, choose Yoplait for their yoghurt fix.
Yoplait were also found to hold 11.9% of the value share of the dairy yoghurt category.
Their multi-packs and bulk tubs have also seen an increase in sales, as consumers move away from single, impulse serve formats while staying home due to COVID-19.
Lion Dairy & Drinks Marketing and Innovation Director, Darryn Wallace said it was testament to the staying power of the brand, which was first introduced in 1982.
“In these times of crisis, we’ve seen a shift in customers moving to known and trusted brands like Yoplait. We’re incredible proud to hold pride of place as the nation’s number one yoghurt brand, and look forward to offering great value for many years to come,” Mr Wallace said.
